Dashboard only displaying Task groupings

Can anyone help me understand why some reports in my dashboards don't display fully?
I have a report on Tasks that is grouped by Project. When I put this into a dashboard it will display only the groupings (Project names), not the Tasks themselves.

Hi Chloe,

Dashboards only show the highest level of the report. If you have group by on, it will only show you the top level which is projects. Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for your quick reply Tom.
Is there any way to turn that off? Seems like poor design to me as the groupings tell you nothing at all about the Tasks aside from the name of their Parent Project!

Hi Chloe,

I also had that problem and opened a support ticket ID #16475.

Initially Clarizen acknowledged that this was indeed a bug, but later on Clarizen argued that this is per design and not a bug.

I asked Tom to report this as an enhancement request to preserve the Table Report functionality with 'Group By' when it is embedded in Dashboards and display the detailed information, not just the group by.
