Update/Change Data Field Type

I have a Text field that I would like to change to a Text Area field. Is this possible? If not, is there a temporary rule that could be used to transfer data from a specific existing Text field into a new Text Area field?

Hello Rebecca,

At the moment, you will need to create a whole new field. We currently do not support the feature where you can copy fields as a different field type. Would you like me to open a feature request regarding this?
