Please look in the upper left hand corner to see if you are both using the same view. Each view can have different sorts and filters associated with it, which would explain why the task list and sequence are different. If you are both in the same view, you can also add your own sorts and filters on top of what is already configured with the view. Looks to see if any of the columns have either a filter icon or a blue underline. If you both are in the same view and clear the sorts and filters, you should see the same list.
