Use Internal CSS Stylesheets in Workflow Emails

I'd like to be able to utilize CSS Internal Stylesheets in workflow action "send email".  Standard HTML and inline styles seem to be allowed, but because Clarizen relies on the { } to parse Clarizen field references, you cannot use them in internal stylesheets.
