Deleting Pick List Values Via Data Loader Delete Function

I'm trying to delete pick list values off large lists of pick lists via the Data Loader Delete Function.

1) Is their a way to do this?

2) How would this be setup in the template used to upload to Clarizen Data Loader?

3) Can Specify a Field and then choose the value to select?

Thanks,

Kyle

Are you talking about editing the pick list custom field itself and removing values directly from the custom field? Or are you looking at clearing a specific picklist value from all objects that have that value, but keep that as an available picklist value in the custom field? The former is not possible, but the latter is.

HI Josh,

Thanks for the Reply. I'm talking about editing the pick list custom field itself and removing values directly from the custom field? Then is the only way to remove pick list values from a pick list to go into configuration and delete each one manually?( This is where the problem lies right now. Every time I go into a pick list (Which has over 1500 values) it freezes. Is there anyway to increase the performance on how this responds?

Thanks,

Kyle

Also.... is there any documentation you can provide me on the Delete Function Functionality in Clarizen? (I.E. What is it used for and capable of being used for?

Wow, 1,500 values is quite substantial. It might be better to use a relation to an object instead of a dropdown.  Definitely talk to your CSM or PS consultant regarding the best solution for the use case.  You definitely won't be able to delete them with the data loader. The delete function on the data loader is designed to delete objects (work items, cases, timesheets, etc.).
