As a workaround for now, perhaps you can add the resources panel to your project view. Same one click should achieve the same.

Quick Peek changed
I would like to change the way in which the quick peek works when you click on it via a task. Instead of it defaulting to the summary card and then having to expand the menu options on the left, I would like it to default to Resources (if resources have been allocated).
Before the last update, you were able to choose where you wanted to go when you first clicked on the quick peek button. So one click. Now three clicks to get to resources.

I needed the same for the task 'Description' and the workaround worked well, here's what I did:
Settings-->Profiles-->Master Profiles-->Work Item-->Task-->Summary Card-->Edit-->drag 'Description' field from left to right-->click 'Save'
I'll assume the same would work for you, Nicky, if you drag the 'Resources' field from left to right
