Updating Work Field When Closing Task
When I mark a task complete, is there a way to have the Work field updated to equal the actual effort field?

This can definitely be done with a workflow rule, but I don't understand the use case. Work is your plan and Actual Effort is what was actually invested into the task. A rule like this would eliminate the purpose of the Work field--a better option might be just hiding work from all of your views if it will always equal Actual Effort.
