It certainly seems as if we are missing a trick in not being able to edit a template within the template module. For us this appeared as an error was showing on a template on a field that we do not use therefore had no knowledge of how this problem transpired. We had to find a project when this template had been used previously and re save from there to correct the problem. Very time consuming indeed.
