Did you try using one KPI field, with a formula that runs according to the project type, for example? If you could make it work you won't need multiple views.
Regarding the record progress, I believe using posts is an option to keep history.
I work for an NGO that has multiple projects and each one of them have its own set of KPI and some shared KPI.
I´ve created custom fields for the KPI but given they change from project to project I could not set a single View where the right KPI appear for the right project in the workplan grid.
This means I need to create project-specific views (1 project = 1 view)? Doesn´t sound very smart. I have no problem in creating project-specific reports/dashboards however how would update the progress if not by project-specific views to aceess the KPI costum fields?
An associated question: how to keep record of KPI progress? I´m using numeric custom field for KPI, but say I have a a result of 5 in month 1 and a another 5 in month 2 when I erase the previous result and add the accumulated data (10) hence missing the historical record. I´m sureI´mdoing some thing wrong but could not find a solution alone.
Thanks a lot

Does the formula idea allow the visualization of more than one KPI per project? And what if I have a KPI exclusive to aproject? Sounds interesting. Where can I learn how to set that up?
Record progress: would I be able to use the notes data to build charts that reflect the KPI evolution in time?
Thanks a lot!
