Linking of My Assigned Cases View in Cases Module to Activity Today

Currently today, the client would like to not use the Cases Module but would like to update the Filters and the Columns on the "My Assigned Cases" View that displays when you goto Activity Today > Cases > My Assigned Cases View. The My Assigned Cases  through the Activity today link that is displayed is not editable and is only a default view with default columns and filters that does not update based on the settings on the My Assigned Cases View.
