I have a parent task (task A) under project and an unrelated Milestone (Milestone B). Note that Task A is NOT under Milestone B.
Now I want task A to close itself out based on Milestone B's completion. Can this be achieved ?

In order to achieve this, the milestone should have some sort of a reference to the task (e.g. ID). If that is the case, then it is possible.
Say that you already have a workflow rule that triggers upon milestone completion. Then the following would close the task referenced:

Should also mention that the best practice in Clarizen is for each Milestone to contain all of the tasks required to achieve that Milestone. Likely this task should be placed inside of the Milestone.
