SWFR to Create a New Project for Multiple Customers

I'm trying to build a SWFR to create a new project using a template for multiple customers. I ran one last night at the customer level and it created the projects, but it did not associate them with customers. Do I need to populate the "$Parent" field in the SWFR? I tried CurrentObject() but I get this error:

"Classes 'Project or Program' and 'Customer' are incompatible"

Is this possible? I need to have this done in the next 6 hours...
