We have come across this also, some fields auto save when they loose focus, others (text areas) you have to explicitly click the button, failure to do so will result in it loosing the details.

Enhancement Request: Fields Closing without Saving
When editing fields, should a user scroll down the page, causing the field to go out of view, it automatically closes without saving the edits. This causes work to be lost and end users to not work directly in Clarizen. Our PMs are typing entries in secondary tools like words or notepad and then pasting into Clarizen due to this. These field should either auto save or not close.

Either auto-save or a visual warning on the screen giving the choice for the user to either save and close or continue editing
