Have you fully reviewed our tutorials on Work Policy? https://success.clarizen.com/hc/en-us/articles/226824287-Work-Policy-Tutorial I think what you are describing is a conflict between work and duration. There are settings here that can be adjusted to meet your scheduling needs.

FollowClarizen does not recognize Effort Driven tasks
Our plan has tasks that are both Actual Effort and Effort Driven. This means some tasks have a duration that matches the start and end dates (Actual Effort) but others have a duration much less that the start and end dates (Effort Driven).
Clarizen is treating all tasks as Actual Effort and is changing start and end dates to match the durations for the Effort Driven tasks.
We have tried all ways to correct this but because of dependencies and tasks being completed it has been impossible to load the plan as is or correct once in Clarizen. We do not want to load with Excel as we will lose all the task indentations.
FIX REQUIRED: We need Clarizen to recognize the difference in the type of task (effort and actual) and not amend dates for Effort Driven tasks.
Thank you,
Lyn

hello,
I had a response from one of your colleagues (#71432) saying this is not part of Clarizen and I need to raise a feature request.
Kind regards,
Lyn
Ah, I see that this stems from MSP settings. This would indeed be a feature request.
Is this not how a raise a feature request?
Almost, I have moved this into the proper thread. Thank you!
