Duration field: Miss calculated due to our Working Times equal to 15h.

We set our Working Times from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM 7/7Days. (15 hours)

In Settings > Global settings > calendar >Edit... > Calendar settings.

As by default the Duration Field is calculated on 8 hours Working day this creates a bug.

When we create a task with a 1-day difference between the Start Date and the Due Date, the Duration will be 1.88 days ( as 1 of our day = 15h / 8h of duration configuration).

I tried to configure the # Default Hours in a day:15h but this is worst, as the WORK field is now miss calculated too. So I set it back to 8h.

Is there a way to set update the settings?

The purpose is to be able to report non-overtime hours from 7 am to 10 pm, but we are working 8 hours per days.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a custom rule in in Time Tracking for overtime hours? Instead of catering the calendar to this rule, it might be better to use normal default calendar hours and refining the overtime rule to not rely on the calendar. I'm sure there are some creative options your Professional Services consultant can suggest for your specific use case.

Hello @Josh Santos, No, unfortunately, we do not have a Custom rule for Overtime in the Time Tracking configuration.

For Overtime we only have a Custom field Toggle that is only used in reports and to generate a notification, it is not linked to the calendar.

Would you have another Idea?

Thanks in advance and thanks for your help.

There should not be any restriction on when to report non-overtime hours. In fact, there is an out-of-the-box field that you can use to mark any reported time entry as overtime. I'm not sure how your custom toggle works, but it might be better to use the standard overtime field.

Hello Josh,

Thanks for your help. I must have missed explaining we have Flextime, we can work from 7 am to 10 pm, and we would like to set automation so when an hour out of our allowed working hours is automatically set as overtime.

So we need to set the Calendar setting with 15h availability. But as we're still working 8h per days, the Duration still needs to be calculated on 8h /day.

So the Overtime Toggle is not the issue. our Overtime field is just a toggle that can be manually switched on, on Time entries if during or out of allowed working hours it's overtime (more then 8h /day).

That why it is so important for us to have the Calendar settings to be extended to 15h availability.

Thanks again for your help.
