Is there a way to disable the Discussions section on a dashboard widget?

From what I can tell I can minimize the discussions section in the widget but then whoever is accessing it would still be able to restore it. Can the discussions against a dashboard be made inaccessible via the widget?

Yes you can.

When you generate the widget link, expand the 'options' and you have the ability to 'specify visible panels'.  Uncheck Discussions (And any other panels you want to exclude) and then click next.  The link you are now presented with will only include the panels you permitted.

I am happy to supply some screenshots if that didn't make perfect sense.
