Would definitely support this, we use a text area for purposes of weekly PSR reporting, and regularly hit the 2000 character cap, especially when reporting Portfolio status.

Please increase text field and workflow text field update limits
Please increase the custom text field limits. 2,000 is not enough. If not possible could we have another text field type that has a count like Description (32,000)
