Since Data Fields are not 'stand alone' and have to be linked to a source, are they not editable in a report?

Editable related items in editable reports
Please add the ability to edit related items in editable reports. For example, if an editable report is built on User > Project > Request, only User entity fields can be edited. Editing Project and Request entity fields would be useful. For future reference, please use CR-468560.
