I would create a custom field for "last comment" and a workflow rule that will always populate it with the last discussion note. You can then use this field for reporting and exports.

How to Export Discussion panel data , the latest Discussion Post from Clarizen
I want to be able to Export the Data of from Discussion Panel for Each Project , I would like to read the Latest Post on Discussion Panel and use for reporting , Exporting the discussion is not available in Reporting or the Export options , At the least can we export the notes from Clarizen for the Projects?
