Linking Customers to Projects and Cases

Linking Customers to Projects and Cases

Clarizen enables you to associate (link) projects and cases with one or more customers so that customer-centric projects, such as service projects, build-to-order projects, build-to-customer and others are linked to their respective customer(s).

To associate projects and cases with customers, the Projects and Cases modules as well as several other other modules provide an 'Add Related' function to enable linking customers.

Why do you have a title called Linking Customers to Project and Cases and then not tell how to do this? What is the point of this? You have links but they don't take you to the exact spots that tells you about linking customers to projects and cases. It just takes you some place else that now you have to search through there. Not very informative.

    Jeffrey,

I will ask that an example be added to the documentation to make it more informative. If you have any specific questions you would like to ask, feel free to explain what you are trying to do.

I'm getting ready to go live in a couple of weeks and am trying to figure out the steps to do 2 things. One is to have a customer be able to see a project which I can do with the sharing a widget. The other is to have the customer be a resource on the plan without having a license. Thanks Boris.

You can share a Project as a link or a widget from the toolbar. If you share as a link a user would need a license. If sharing as a read-only widget, you can share to whomever you wish from the Project using the share option and no license is required but you will see limited information and no drill down will be available.

We have email only users but these users are typically used for reporting time via Progress Update Reports sent via email. If you would want them to see tasks or log into the product, this would not be possible without licenses.
