No, it should work all the time. Are you in a view with the team panel? (List of people on the left). By the way, the dragging works both ways, you can drat a resource to a task or vice versa.

Drag and Drop
Iam trying to use the drag and drop feature to assign tasks in my team. It doesn't actually seem to do it. Does this works only if a resource is overloaded? Please Advise.

Thanks Josh. I was clicking on the Task link and hence the process failed. I can do it either ways now, just got overlooked. Thanks again.
