Try to Copy/Paste project into another...

I've gone into an existing project and check the top line box and clicked "copy".

I then go into my other project and attempt to paste at various location within the new project plan.  It's not pasting...what am I doing wrong?

Hi Mirko,

copy/pasting between projects is not the way to go.

If you wish to nest a project under a different project, you may open the projects module in grid mode, and there hover your mouse cursor on the case with the project name. This will display the small edit icon on the right, which you can click. There, you will be able to change the parent of the project, which you can then set to the project of your choise.

Your original project will now be a sub project of the one you select.

I have a similar need, but I don't want these to be nested, I just want the Tasks/Milestones/etc. to be part of this new project. I can adjust them once they are in the new project. This used to work in 5.4 but not so in V6?

What you can do is save the project as a template, launch the template into the new project, and then outdent the tasks/milestone and get rid of the extraneous project work item.  The copy/cut between projects feature will also be released sometime in Q1 of next year.

Do you have an eta on the release of that feature.  The above workaround is less than optimal.
