Locked baseline dates

I have created a project and I am the project manager but many of the features are still locked.  For example, I would like to make a baseline for my start and end dates so that I can compare where we are to where we originally expected to be.  I am in the baseline-schedule view but when I try to make a baseline date, there is a locked symbol that will not allow me to do so.  I am also not able to change the status of the job or task, as this is also locked.

Hi Greg,

The fields you refer to are system calculate fields.

To populate the baseline fields, you may select your project in the grid, then go to the Misc sub menu of the work plan, and click on Save as baseline.

This will allow you to later see baseline start dates/due dates, and also use the baseline and plan vs actual options in the Gantt view.

The status field shoud be overrideable. Perhpas you refer to State ? To change it, you may again select your project, and in the common submenu of the work plan click on Mark as (and whichever state you wish)

Best Regards.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for the quick response, however, this is also part of the problem.  Everything under the Misc sub menu is also greyed out along with most of the other sub menus.  I don't understand why everything is greyed out.

Are you the project manager of that project?  If so, did you select the project using the checkbox column on the far left?  The project needs to be checked before you can use most of the items in the Misc menu.

Yes, I am the project manager and yes, the checkbox is selected.   Most items are still greyed out.  Any other suggestions?

Is the project active?  If it is, then I would put in a support ticket for deeper investigation into your account.

I realized I had the checkbox selected on the main project screen but not when the individual project was open.  Thanks for the help and responsiveness!

Ah, great!  Sorry if that operation was not intuitive, we have a solution coming sometime in the next few patches (first row will be autoselected in work plan so all options display).

On a related subject.  If you have a baseline set is it possible to change it?

Yes, all you need to do is save another baseline over the existing baseline.
