Expense category "Telephone" locked

I'd like to change the expense category "Telephone" to "Telephone and Internet" Oddly, "Telephone" is the only expense category that is _not_ editable. Any idea why? I can delete it, but then I would lose all of those existing relationships, right? Thanks.

Hi Christopher,

Can you verify if the expense sheet was approved? That would lock out the Expense Category and disable further editing.

Reopening an expense sheet, will allow you to modify the Expense Category value for Expenses.

See video: http://screencast.com/t/svfR8FyTp.

Thank you,

Diana

Hi Christopher,

Can you please explain what you mean by: "Is there an easy way to track down the expense sheet that would be locking the field? Would the status of that sheet be draft? submitted?"

Thanks,

Tamir

I would like to change the expense category "Telephone" to "Telephone and Internet" but it is the only expense category that is not editable. Ive been told that his is because there is an unapproved expense sheet using it, but cannot find that expense sheet.

Is there an easy way to find the open expense sheet that is using "telephone"

Thanks.

Hi Christopher,

Please go to Settings > Configure > Expense > Expense Category and edit the pick list.

Good Luck!

that is what I am trying to do - that field, and only that field, is not editable. See attached screen shot.

Okay, maybe not a bug but at least a feature request. Any value that you added into the system is editable, but the system defaults are not.

OK. I found it odd since it is the only one that isnt editable.

But I can delete it? If I do so, I assume I lose the relationship on all expense reports submitted that use "Telephone"

Thanks.

Yes, you would have to re-input that information. What I would do is add your new value first, then write a scheduled workflow rule that will change the field system wide, then delete the old value.
