"Show in roadmap" via workflow rule

Hi,

Is it possible to do what the "show in roadmap" button does in a workflow rule? We want to automatically add to the roadmap certain types of task when they are created.

Thanks.

Fernando,

I am not certain if this can easily be done. Currently, you can only add Milestones and Notes to the Roadmap, it is not possible to add Tasks. I am certain this can be done with a Custom Workflow or Action but it would be highly complicated and would probably require assistance from Managed Services (Professional Services) or your Customer Success Manager (Eran Fishov).

Hi,

Actually, we investigated in our side and it's indeed fairly easy. Adding tasks to the Roadmap is a built in action (the button I mentioned, "Show in Roadmap", does that). What that action does is setting the field "AttachToRoadmap" in the link between the task and its parent to "1". So we can easily set that field with a custom action or an API call.

Thanks anyway :).

Fernando,

Thank you for the update. I was not aware of this and will add it to the knowledge base.

Hi, would you be able to show me how this was done? I was trying to build a workflow to automatically set a task to show up in the roadmap, but I can't seem to find where to set it.

Thank you in advance.

Got it figured out, I realized that it should be under the item "Hierarchy" and work from there.

Thanks.
