User Roles

I was wondering if there was anyway to customize a user role so they can't delete tasks, change estimated hours, etc. Thanks!

Hi Ken,

 

There is a way to do this via customization. However, customization is specific to your account and we recommend you attending one of our Advanced Q&A webinars, contacting your CSM, or  purchasing Professional Service hours if you haven't already.

Hi Ken,

I would also like to inform you that only Project Managers, Managers, and Super Users have the ability to delete tasks, change estimated hours, etc. Resources cannot do this. However, if you are referring to a user who is a Manager/Project user and want that person to be limited to a specific project, that would require customization.

Ah okay. Now I knew that, but I was going to be more asking if a certain thing is triggered, for example when a baseline is set, then this "user role" would not allow them to change anything. Because as it is we scope out our work from a  resource perspective, so they need to be able to change and delete and add tasks and time. But when the baseline is set I would not want anything changed. I'm guess this would be a custom action in the configuration setting, but really not wanting to try and fumble my way through that. If it's even possible.

This would need more indepth customization and the webinars would be the best resource. Also, you can contact your CSM regarding this customization or even using Professional Services.
