How Can I See Billable Time On A Project

I have created a test project with 10 tasks.  Each is 1d effort.  5 are billable and 5 are non billable.

So my project has 10 days in total but only 5 are billable to the customer.  When i filter on the billable column and set it to show billable, the work column shows 10 days.  When i set the billable column to filter on non-billable, the work column does not sum up the total days.

It seems to me that the functionality is missing on this filter and the only way to get these figures is to export to excel.

Can anyone assist with this please?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin,

I am a little confused on what you are trying to accomplish here. Could you provide me some screenshots?

Morning Tom,

Here are the screenshots.

I feel that this should be achieved in the work plan view, but if it can be done via a report instead, then that's fine.  I realise we can export the project to excel and then use filters, but to do that means extra effort and we have to start including additional columns, such as the Parent column, so we can filter out summary tasks.

Thanks

Hi Tom,

Have you had a chance to look at this yet?  This is going to be a critical issue for us soon.

If this cant be achieved in a view then can it be done via a report?

Thanks

Hi Martin,

I apologize for the late reply. From the screenshots I see, it is working correctly. The reason why you see 10 days for the filter to be on "Billable" is because it shows the project as well. When you switch the filter to non billable, the project disappears because it is set as billable. What you are seeing in "Nonbillable" are separate tasks underneath that project and hence you see different work hours. I hope that helps.
