Resource calendar view detail

I think the resource calendar view would be more useful if it displayed more than 3 levels of load (ie. free, got stuff on, overloaded). It would be pretty simple to implement different shades of colour to indicate the actual level of load in a segment without having to mouseover. Colours from, say, no bar for 0% through shades of grey to a dark grey or black for 100%, then through shades of red for varying levels of 'overloaded'.

I like that idea a lot, will add to our feature request database!

Hey Loukas, I agree the resource calendar needs work. I have proposed a Calendar View so individuals can very quickly get an idea of how busy their week really is. Check it out here and let me know what you think:

This is built more from a production persons point of view and less from a manager's, who might be trying to look at resource loads for several individuals.....

I hope the resource calander will allow interactive replanning of work between resource and projects- leveling out of the load.

The work load default in hourse per day or percent with appropriate alerts are also useful.

We do have leveling in the pipeline, but I don't have a specific ETA. It is very complex to do leveling in a multi-project environment (can have substantial impact on projects that other people are managing).

thanks - cant wait ...

will the resource calander reflect vaction - laeve on the project schedule?

I have a project with all reseources leave- when trying to allot a resource to tasks

1) It would be nice to know (warning) the resource is allready 100% for those days

(with the relative senrios-i.e. if he is at 80% and the alloting creates an overload to also receive

a warning.

2) it would be nice if the system would not allow alloting a resource on leave during the days he

is on leave

3)other suggestion regarding defining virtual place takers, and exchanging a resource within a project have been sent before

Thank You

1.) I believe this is part of the plan.

2.) This for sure is part of v5.

3.) Very interesting, do you mean like a backup resource if someone is sick or on vacation?
