Disable Following Emails

How do I selectively disable email updates related to a task discussion?

I have a process that is adding a comment to a Task with and then assigning followers to the task.  That way the initial comments are recorded and future replies will trigger notification if necessary

The issue is that the new followers are receiving an email for every discussion post even though the post was sent before the follower was added.  This can result in hundreds of unnecessary emails coming from clarizen.

Can I mark a discussion post for not sending emails?  Or do I have to turn off the users emails, add the discussion and follower and then restart the user emails?

Hi Josh,

I do not believe that you can selectively turn off email updates without turning it all off. However, based on what you are saying, this might be a bigger issue. Regarding the followers, are they already resources on the task?

Hi Tom,

They are not resources on this task.  The work flow is as follows:

1. user 1 is assigned a task to review a collection of documents, all managed through a form.

2. user 1 finalizes initial task and all findings are loaded as tasks for user 2 to review.

3. Each document is it's own task and each finding is a discussion attached to that task.

4. User 2 is the resource for the new task but user 1 needs to be a follower to allow them to follow any discussion around the findings.

The issue is that the initial setup of the new task and the discussions result in emails going out to the followers even if they are added as followers after the discussions have been added.
