You can create a custom field that will trigger a new stopwatch, but I'm not sure if it will save much time over using the ribbon.

Add stopwatch buttons to the task summary cards
In order to make time tracking more instinctive and easier to implement it would be nice to be able to have stopwatch functions on task summary cards if required.

The ribbon doesn't appear in the Task calendar view which is where this would be most useful for my team.
