Make a View Section Always Visible Even if Empty

In all the default views, whether a user selects a (specific) Bug, Issue, Task etc., once you've drilled down to he Bug the Discussion section is always visible, even if there are no discussions.  How can I customize a view so another section is similarly always visible, even if empty?  For Bugs, Issues, Requests and Risks, when I select one, I want the Work Item section always visible.

Thanks

Clarizen doesn't behave like that out of the box. Can you explain what is it that you are trying to achieve?

Um, I explained it in my first post :).  "For Bugs, Issues, Requests and Risks, when I select one, I want the Work Item section always visible."  In our company they are always going to contain Work Items and I just prefer it be visible so I can instantly click on Add Work Item right in the work item section.  I dislike having to click on the Add Related over on the right, which often isn't visible once things start to fill up on the right panels.

i.e. once things start to fill up it requires scrolling to get to the add related.

It's Clearer now thanks!

Have you considered using the "Add Related" at the Top of the Grid? (Next to Common")? This button will always be there regardless of how many things fill-up.

Thank Yossi.  See attachment.  There is no Add Related at the top of the grid.

Hello,

The reason you do not see the Work Item Related Panel is because the Request does not have a Work Item related. If a relation exists it will of course always show the panel (see attached screen capture).

Are you telling us that this Request has an associated Work Item and it does not show or you simply want the panel to show as blank if NO Work Item exists?

If it is the latter, will you please provide a Use Case as to why you would want to see an empty Panel within the view as this would be considered a Change Request.

Sincerely,

Boris

The one in bold.

For the same reason you have the discussion panel always visible, you made a decision that users would benefit if the discussion pane is always available, it encourages users to use it.  I fully appreciate the thinking behind the user only seeing sections that actually contain info.  But at the same time I'd like to be able to make sections visible to encourage the user to use them, same as you do by making the discussion area visible.

Our issues/bugs/requests are ALWAYS going to have work items associated with them, so having the work item section visible the moment one is created would be useful.  I'm simply saying give the admin the ability to make panels visible even if empty.

Thanks

And to be clear, I'm saying make panel/s visible.  i.e. not all of them, just the ones the admin wants.  Another example of how this could be useful is it is a way to highlight what panels you WANT people to be putting info into, as well as to display areas for info you are going to require via a workflow or other method.  As an example we want EVERY bug assigned to a customer, so having the customer panel always visible would help employees to remember that.

Hello,

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I will escalate as a Change request. Your change request was logged. ID: CR-242260.

Also, note that you can technically do this by creating Custom Panels that you can then show at the Requests/Bugs/Issues Item Types and base the visibility as desired. In your case, no condition so that all can see it.

Sincerely,

Boris
